Terms and Conditions

You will be asked to provide a personal e-mail address and a password in order to register with the panel. You must not disclose your password to anyone else, and you are responsible for keeping it safe. Ocean Spray will not be liable for any unauthorized use of your account, which includes unauthorized use of your e-mail address and password.

You will be responsible to ensuring that any and all details about you (including e-mail address, allergies, health updates, etc.) are kept up to date and are correct.

You undertake that all information you give as a panelist will be true and accurate, and will not be false or misleading.

We have the right to deny your participation for any reason.

Your contact information will only be used to invite you to a study.
Ocean Spray and the Sensory Research Center cannot guarantee that you will qualify when we e-mail you or that we will always have an opening that meets your schedule.
Each study has limited seating and deadlines. If you agree to take part, we will be expecting you. If you are running late, or an emergency occurs, please contact us so that we may find a replacement.
Ocean Spray reserves the right to deny registration, participation to anybody for any of the following reasons:

Attempting to get registered for the same study more than once
Using a false identity, address or contact information
Attempting to take part of a study in which they were not invited
Behaving disruptively or rudely to our staff or other testers
Not observing the rules of the study or our facility
Consistent lateness, earliness or absentee-ism
Giving false or conflicting information on any type of registration, including online surveys
Giving false or conflicting information to any question asked over the phone, online or in person

If we find any of the above reasons to be true, or for any other reason that we feel jeopardizes our obligation to the study or the testers, we may remove your registration and the registrations of your other household members without notice or explanation.

Informed Consent to Participate in a Research Study

Overview

You have been invited to participate in a juice/food product evaluation study conducted by the Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. Sensory Research Center. While you personally may not expect to receive immediate benefit from this study, your participation in the study may benefit the consuming public by assisting in the development of new commercial products.

The studies may entail testing product containing ingredients new to Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. One such ingredient is a juice extract derived from the cranberry fruit which may be added to water and cranberry beverages. The extract product has been evaluated for safety by a third-party scientific consulting firm. Based on a critical evaluation of scientific data, the firm concludes that the extract-fortified products are GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) for human consumption.

To be accepted into any study, you must be between the ages of 18-69 and be willing to participate in the study plan described below. You will be excluded from any studies if you have a history of allergy, sensitivity, or intolerance to any of the test products.

To ensure the integrity of our testing, it is your responsibility to inform the recruiter if you are presently on, just completed, or are scheduled to start another study with any other company or research facility. You must also inform the recruiter of any medical changes (i.e., pregnancy, cholesterol medical prescriptions, etc). Failure to do so may result in termination from the panel and forfeiture of payment.

This study is an onsite Sensory test of beverage and food products. For each test session you complete, you will be entitled to payment of a $25.00 gift card. Complete participation in the study means that you adhere to and complete as scheduled all aspects of the study plan and are not participating in any other Market Research, Sensory, or Clinical studies. After you have been accepted, should your participation be discontinued by Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. for any reason other than non-compliance, you will be entitled to participation in future research studies at Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. However, the Ocean Spray Sensory Research Center reserves the right to discontinue your participation for any reason. That reason may or may not be shared with you.

Study Plan

Panelists must report to the Sensory Research Center at their scheduled time for each visit, unless communicated otherwise. Panelists must arrive on time to avoid potential “back-ups” as there are many panelists in and out of the test center all day. If for any reason you need to change your appointment, please call 508-923-3918 or e-mail sensory@oceanspray.com to cancel or reschedule. Panelists may be video and/or audio taped at some point during a study. Most of the testing process is done on a computer; however, there may be instances where you will be asked to participate in an informal conversation in a separate room with a Research and Development staff member.

Consent

I have reviewed the Informed Consent on the details, risks, and plan of the study program. I have read the consent form and voluntarily agree to participate in studies. I have been given the opportunity to ask questions about any study. It is my belief that this study may benefit the consuming public as well as Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. I also understand that I am free to withdraw from this study at any time for any reason without prejudice to myself. I attest that I am at least 18 years of age. I agree not to take children under the age of 18 years to the Ocean Spray Cranberries Sensory Research Center due to liability laws.
